Profit Favors Action - Dave Lakhani (President Bold Approach Inc.)
I was thrilled when Dave was last on the show. He’s an energetic, brilliant, and enthusiastic conversationalist. In fact, the last time he was here I never thought he'd get through everything on his Napkin plus having him share his Four Step Focus plan was an incredibly fun Paper Napkin.
Once again, Dave comes to us with a jam-packed Paper Napkin Wisdom. This time, his focus is on connecting with people. He shares with us a strategy for creating a flood of awareness, deeply persuading people, and moving an audience.
Dave’s strategy for making connections with people is all about being proactive. He breaks it down into four aspects: The 20 Call Blast, The Fabulous 50, The Drip and The Story Sell. Through the conversation as Dave describes each of these four aspects, it becomes really clear that each aspect connects and builds on the others. It’s a big idea and Dave has distilled it down into simple and comprehensive steps.
Dave’s Drip Method is a particularly fascinating one. He reminds us that we’re all constantly bombarded with messages and it’s all too easy for people to forget to connect with us, to forget to call or return a message. That’s why, he says, we need to create a drip campaign so that we’re “dripping” on them on a regular basis. Many little drops of water make a mighty ocean and make an ocean mighty, that’s why each one is important.
The strategies and methods that Dave shares with us are great ones but, as he points out, it’s up to us to implement them. Implementation, says Dave, is everything. Profit favors action. It’s up to each of us to not only reach out and start those connections, but to nurture and grow them; it’s a consciousness of effort that makes those little drops of water turn into an ocean.
It’s all too easy for us, as entrepreneurs, to allow ourselves to lapse in this maintenance when there are so many demands on our attention but if we allow ourselves to lapse, we are cheating ourselves and our connections of limitless opportunity.
